The church of Sant Miquel de Sorerols is on a hill in front of the Sobirana house, on the foothills of the mountain range that separates the Esquirol de Tavertet and looking over the Ter valley in the middle of the Sau reservoir . It rises about twenty meters further down the top of the hill where the ruins of the Castle of Sorerols settle

The building consecrated in 1091 seems to have been completed later, by building a bell tower and raising the roof. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a small sacristy was added
