The 20m tall waterfall is located in the Icelandic Highland in the river Skjálfandafljót.
Photo tips: This frontal view is quite a classic and very rewarding. Wide to ultra-wide lenses will be needed. Water shows its structure at its best at around 1/2 s shutter speed, but you certainly can experiment with other speeds.
Getting there: 4WD is strongly recommended to drive to the parking lot, which is just a few minutes walk from the waterfall.
Aldeyjarfoss, Iceland
Less than well known, the Aldeyjarfoss waterfall is situated in the Highlands of Iceland at the northern part of the Sprengisandur Highland Road. The river Skjálfandafljót drops here from a height of 20m. The basalt belongs to a lava field called Frambruni or Suðurárhraun, hraun being the Icelandic word for lava. --Excerpt from Wikipedia
