I think Iceland has to be the single best place I've been to ever for waterfalls, you can't go far without encountering them, small, huge, dramatic, unusual, and simply jaw dropping waterfalls all over the place, such is the way that the well known bigger impressive ones get totally mobbed at times and it can be really hard work being patient to get the shot you want, the area close to here is one such place, Skogafoss, however this isn't the main falls, it's a good way over the top of the main falls and further along the river, although I had really poor weather, and rain there wasn't a soul around so I could set up and just wait it out for any dry spells without hoards of tourists.
As it happens the dry spells never came, and in several hours alone along this area I just had to shoot and wipe the lens and hope for the best with the slowest shutter speed I could manage without getting the front element wet, I hate the rain but the dark dramatic skies beat a blue sky here and add to the image I think.
Even in the rain it was a great place to just wander around and take in the beauty of the place, and of course the rain although making some very slippery surfaces, really helped with the raucous nature of the water flow at my chosen spot and gave nice contrast to the red rocks,
