I try to avoid roadside shots if I can, but some are just too good to miss. This view of Arkle, with the abandoned cottage next to Loch Stack - and a boulder - is just a few feet from the little road that runs from Laxford Bridge to Lairg in the far north of Scotland. This is a favourite spot just off the NW500 route that is understandably popular these days. Incidentally I have recently discovered that Sutherland has a population density of 6.2 people per square mile, which is understandable as no lives in the square miles you can see here. My sort of place....
