I was going through the archives for something to post, and came across this shot from a year ago. I had to check as I had got it into my head that it was actually two years ago as it seemed so long ago. Sadly it just goes to show it has been very long year. Anyway, this is a reminder of an amazing morning watching nature in the raw down on the South Wales coast at Porthcawl. Huge waves driven by Storm Dennis came crashing in and then burst skywards as they hit the sea wall (the mole). To give you a sense of scale, the little lighthouse is about 30 feet high.

I missed an opportunity to catch Storm Ciara, so when Storm Dennis came along a week later I wasn't going to make the same mistake. The sheer power of the sea being driven into the Porthcawl seawall was astonishing, and you do have to wonder how the little lighthouse hasn't been knocked off it's perch by now. Oh - I did discover the joys of burst shooting with the D7500, so I've now got one or two pictures to work through..... That's another one off the bucket list!

It's been stormy in parts of the country in recent weeks, but not down here. So here's one from a couple of years ago when Storm Dennis hit Porthcawl on the South wales coast. To give you a sense of scale, the lighthouse is 30 feet high.

Another from a wild day at Porthcawl. The little lighthouse somehow reminded me of a battered 'Starwars' type droid, looking on in resignation as yet another monster wave piles in to give it another pounding.
