Photo tips: As the path comes from over the village and passes in front of it, there every directions to work with, so any time of the day should be fine (as there's never big blue skies with no clouds in Iceland anyway!)

Getting there: it's on the Svartifoss trail return if you decide not to go back the same way. It's on the maps you can find in the Skaftafell guides house.
