Number three in my Scotland series but one of the first photos I took during the trip. It was on the second day when we drove from the Trossachs to Glencoe and had the most beautiful weather. We could have gone to Glen Etive which would have been great with the blue skies but somehow one of our tires decided to loose air ... And somehow Avis had decided that we don't need a reserve tire. 4 hours we had to wait on the road to glencoe to get a new tire. We had a nice viewpoint but still since we had to stay neer the car it was wasted time. The good thing was by 6pm we were in Glencoe, got to our B&B and then had enough time to go explore. The sky had some nice soft clouds so I was expecting a beautiful sunset.
And for once I was right :-) Buachaille was number 1 on my list so with this weather I had to get my most wanted shot. Since this Mountain is photographed quite often again it's not so easy to get a unique image. First decision was not to waste that beautiful light on the standard comp with the waterfall and that tree in front of the mountain. I went to this spot two days later just to have seen it but there is really no way to get a unique shot there. So instead I took of into the area near the Glencoe road. There's a bridge and below another view which was photographed a thousand times. To get an own perspective it was necessary to get the feet wet and wade around in the water to find some comps. I have many more shots of which I'm gonna show you some later. But this was one of the first of that evening. The colors were great and I wanted some green in it and found it with those grasses on the river shore. Else the Etive Mor looks quite brown during springtime ;-) Good thing with early spring was on the other hand that it's pre midge season in may and I got no bytes here. With no wind and the still water this might have been nasty but I'm no scotland expert.
I used lee 0.6 hard grad here but again did bracketing to retain a little more detail. I also did focusstacking here to get better sharpness. A little more work than with my recent images but I'm happy with the outcome.. let's see If it stayes this way.. .The photo is fresh out of processing and I should normally wait a day or two to better judge it.
I let you decide!
