I dusted off this one from my old archives, it was taken while I was living in mighty new York city working at Wall St. I think this was the 11 year memory of 9/11 and there was news going around that they were going to stop the tribute in light after this last time.
So I got out to Brooklyn Bridge Park in the afternoon to get a good shot of the NY skyline and hopefully some sunset colors. And I was not disappointed, the sunset sky was excellent even without the customary clouds. As soon as I was at the location I was obsessed with the wooden pillars sticking out from the water and I wanted to get them as foreground interest for this shot.
I had posted earlier a shot using my big stopper but it didn’t have the lights. This one was taken when the tribute in light display came on, but I didn’t had time to use the big stopper so I used a 3 stop ND filter to slow the water down and a 2 stop ND grad for the sky. I have to go through my old archives a little bit more carefully to see if have any more good shots that missed my initial scan.
