Tobermory, the main village on the Isle of Mull is a picture post card with its brightly coloured buildings running right along the main street to the harbour. It was built around the late 18th century giving fishermen easy access to the waters of the Sound of Mull. Ferries run daily from Kilchoan on the Ardnamurchan peninsula and from Oban to Craignure which lies about 22miles south of Tobermory. The Island is a treasure trove in itself even boasting to have its own Munro (mountains over 3000ft) on the island along with some lovely Glens and beaches all easily explored on this most welcoming Isle. The colourful building in the middle is the SYHA (Scottish Youth Hostel) and I can recommend it for hospitality and comfort if you are on a budget.
