Sligachan Old Bridge, Isle of Skye Scotland, United Kingdom
Check out the next post for another perspective!
I have just return from a week long hiking/ camping trip in beautiful Scotland. The landscapes were simply jaw-dropping! It is little wonder why it attracts so many photographers and tourist.
Camping just a walking distance away, I woke up at 5:15 and was greeted by the vibrant pre-dawn sky. In fact I had to turn down the saturation a little in post processing! I was surprised that I had the place mostly to myself. Having scouted the location during a rather boring sunset the previous day, I knew exactly the compositions I preferred. In this image, I liked the symmetry of the bridge and the mountain in the background. The sun was rising just behind the mountain which made the capturing the whole dynamic range of the scene very challenging. It was difficult to use graduated neutral density filter as the horizon was not flat. Hence I decided to capture 2 separate exposures; 1) for the bright highlights in the sky and 2) darker foreground and mountain. Blending them in Photoshop to produce the final image.
2 exps, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. All comments and constructive criticisms are appreciated!
