Brazil is a country that is known for its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and diverse wildlife. It is a photographer's paradise, with a plethora of locations that offer breathtaking views and unique experiences. From the bustling streets of Rio de Janeiro to the tranquil beaches of Bahia, Brazil has something to offer every type of photographer. The Amazon rainforest, the Pantanal wetlands, and the Iguazu Falls are just a few of the many natural wonders that make Brazil a must-visit destination for photographers. The country's rich history and architecture also provide ample opportunities for capturing stunning images.
DEDICATED TO NELSON MANDELA
The amazing view of Rio de Janeiro from the Sugarleaf (Päo de Açucae) at dusk.
To take this photo (one of the main objectives of my travel to Brazil) was not an easy task. In the first attempt the security personnel of the cable car that reaches the top of the hill did not allow me to enter with the tripod. In spite of telling them that I was not a professional photographer, just an amateur, they probably did not believe me given the size of the Manfrotto 055 and I had to go back home.
In the second day I opted by carrying the tripod inside a bag (divided in several pieces) and in this occasion I was lucky and no one detained me.
It is difficult to understand why making photos that can contribute to spread worldwide the beauty of this city (and to increase the tourism) can be forbidden by the authorities of this area.
TAKE HOME MESSAGE: if you want to take nice photos in this area DO NOT ASK FOR PERMISSION and carry your camera and your tripod inside a regular bag (and good luck with the light).
With respect to the photo the long beach on the left is the famous beach of Copacabana and in the central background it is easy to see the Corcovado Mount with the Cristo Redentor iluminated on the top.
