British Sovereign Base Areas

The British Sovereign Base Areas (SBAs) are two military bases located in Cyprus, which are under the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom. These areas are Akrotiri and Dhekelia, and they offer a unique opportunity for photographers to capture stunning landscapes and wildlife. The SBAs are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including migratory birds, sea turtles, and rare plant species. The bases also have a rich history, with ancient ruins and historic buildings scattered throughout the area. Photographers can capture the beauty of the SBAs through various lenses, including wildlife, landscape, and architectural photography. With its unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance, the British Sovereign Base Areas are a must-visit destination for any photographer.

Kourion, Cyprus
Kourion Beach

On the last evening of my trip to Cyprus there was no spectacular Sunset like there had been on some earlier days. In fact, it was raining heavily at the time of this picture. But somehow I also like the cool colours of this Sunset. This is taken in a lesser known spot on the South coast of Cyprus, but located near to the Kourion area of Roman ruins.
