This lovely rock formation lies in the outermost south East corner of Cyprus. In the area many beautiful sea caves and other arches can be found. This is the best known one..I was lucky to be able to get the light of the setting sun shining right through the arch.

Sunset at this well known spot on the West coast of Cyprus. According to legend it is where Aphrodite was born out of sea foam. I was glad to be here out of season. For one it keeps the sunset closer to the rock, and more importantly, a cold February day does not bring out many tourists.

I was really lucky with the Sunsets on Cyprus. In 10 days I witnessed 6 different and beautiful golden hours and sunsets.

Pedoulas is a village in the Nicosia District of Cyprus, located at an altitude of 1,100 meters in the Troodos Mountains, 4 km south of Moutoullas. It lies in Marathasa Valley. The name is derived from the words pediada and Laos. It is a popular summer resort. Wikipedia

The Church of Evangelistria is located in the center of Kathikas village and it is the main church and the main site. It was built in 1870 on the remains of an older church dedicated to Saint Hypatia.

Kathikas is one of the Laona villages in the Paphos District of Cyprus. It is situated on a plateau 23 kilometers north of Paphos. It has an altitude of 655m and a population of 333. It is well known for its grape production, such as xynisteri grapes. It also has a flourishing agrotourism industry. Wikipedia.

Cyprus offers a good number of beautiful coastal spots that can be very rewarding for Sunset photography. During my week in Cyprus I tried to find as many of them as I could, and the weather didn't always cooperate, but I did manage to come home with several Sunset shots that I am very pleased with. This one was taken on the West Coast of Cyprus, right next to the port area of Paphos. There were actually quite a number of people here, but miraculously none of them ventured to the area in front of my camera. Most were hanging around Paphos Castle behind me.
