This is a new processing, in black and white this time, of a picture that I made a few months ago (see below) during a night shooting session in Briançon, France. Morning blue hour - a bit cold, but so beautiful! ;-)

This is a "manual HDR", the blending of two shots taken at different exposure times using PS layers.

I found this nice view of the citadel of Briançon a long time ago, but I was always waiting for great lighting conditions to shoot it. This morning, the light was quite good, but a kind of haze reduced the contrast a lot... So I had to play with LightRoom and PS to get a more punchy image. I also repainted one of the houses, they all have nice pastel colors except one... Can you guess which one? J'ai passé une nuit à ce petit lac au col de la croix de fer. Après un orage j'ai eu la chance de voir ce magnifique coucher de soleil. La nuit par contre était à nouveau tourmenté par des orages. C'était assez stressant d'entendre le tonnerre pas loin de ma tente.

Photo panoramique une heure après le coucher de soleil. Un livre, un thé chaud et beaucoup de calme...

Sur mon chemin vers le Col de la Croix de Fer je suis passé devant cette petite église en dessous des Aiguilles d'Arves. Le lieu est isolé mais j'ai rencontré des Anglais sympathique dans le village Le Chalmieu dont une dame dans ses 60aines avec son pieds dans le plâtre. La pauvre avait récemment passé la nuit dehors en montagne avec son tibias et cheville cassé.

Après un nuit paisible (mais peu de sommeil) le lever du soleil avec un bon café.

Le lac Cristallin sur le Plateau d'Emparis était ma première destination de mon escapade montagnarde. Quelques jours là-haut et on redeviens homme (je me réfère à la barbe et l'odeur :-)) Photo nocturne au crépuscule su soir. 24mm, 30s, f/3.5, ISO 100)

It took me quite a while to shoot this one, I made several exposures in prevision of an HDR, and I tried several points of view. During this time, a man went out of the restaurant and approached me. He stood behind the tripod and threw a glance in the same direction as the lens, then he said : "ça va être très bien" (it's gonna be nice). I replied "I hope so...", but I wasn't really sure at this time, because the light was really poor, orange everywhere but on the door and the bell tower. This led me naturally to a B&W version, and I just kept colors in the two well-colored spots.
