The Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. This magnificent Gothic structure has stood the test of time, surviving wars, revolutions, and natural disasters. It is a masterpiece of architecture, with its intricate carvings, soaring spires, and stunning stained glass windows. For photographers, Notre Dame offers a wealth of opportunities to capture its beauty from different angles and perspectives. From the front facade to the rear of the cathedral, there are countless spots to take stunning photos. The interior of the cathedral is equally impressive, with its high vaulted ceilings, ornate altars, and beautiful sculptures.

« Notre-Dame est bien vieille : on la verra peut-être Enterrer cependant Paris qu’elle a vu naître ; Mais, dans quelque mille ans, le Temps fera broncher Comme un loup fait un bœuf, cette carcasse lourde, Tordra ses nerfs de fer, et puis d’une dent sourde Rongera tristement ses vieux os de rocher ! Bien des hommes, de tous les pays de la terre Viendront, pour contempler cette ruine austère, Rêveurs, et relisant le livre de Victor :

Notre Dame de Paris (in English: Our Lady of Paris), also known as Notre Dame Cathedral, is a Gothic, Roman Catholic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France. It is the cathedral of the Catholic archdiocese of Paris: that is, it is the church that contains the "cathedra", or official chair, of the Archbishop of Paris, André Cardinal Vingt-Trois. Notre Dame de Paris is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in France and in Europe. It was restored and saved from destruction by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, one of France's most famous architects. The name Notre Dame means "Our Lady" in French, and is frequently used in the names of Catholic church buildings in Francophone countries.

My stay in Paris was very short (3 days). I was not able to shoot all the landmarks I wanted. But I quite happy with what I was able to get so far :)

Notre-Dame de Paris meaning "Our Lady of Paris"), also known as Notre-Dame Cathedral or simply Notre-Dame, is a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France.[3] The cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, and it is among the largest and best-known church buildings in the Catholic Church in France, and in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass serve to contrast it with earlier Romanesque architecture.
As the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Paris, Notre-Dame contains the cathedra of the Archbishop of Paris, currently Cardinal André Vingt-Trois. The cathedral treasury contains a reliquary, which houses some of Catholicism's most important relics, including the purported Crown of Thorns, a fragment of the True Cross, and one of the Holy Nails.
In the 1790s, Notre-Dame suffered desecration in the radical phase of the French Revolution when much of its religious imagery was damaged or destroyed. An extensive restoration supervised by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc began in 1845. A project of further restoration and maintenance began in 1991.

I was going to post this next month, with the rest of my Paris series. But with the incident that happened yesterday I thought it'd be rather appropriate to post this photo now.
