Apulia, also known as Puglia, is a region located in the southern part of Italy. It is known for its stunning coastline, picturesque towns, and rich cultural heritage. Apulia is a popular destination for photographers due to its diverse landscapes, from the rugged cliffs of the Gargano Peninsula to the rolling hills of the Valle d'Itria. The region is also home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the trulli houses of Alberobello and the baroque city of Lecce.

The town of Alberobello in Puglia, in the heel of Italy has become quite a popular tourist destination. Everyone suddenly wants to see these cute, cone shaped houses that are so typical to that small area. Trulli are small, conical, single room buildings that were made either as storehouses out in the countryside or as dwellings. In the countryside they appear in small clusters of two or three, whereas in Alberobello there is a whole section of town consisting of trulli. The latter has unfortunately become quite a tourist circus, with hardly a trullo that is not a souvenir shop. Some of them now also serve as guest accommodation.

Puerto de Bari
Going back to a place of my dreams, where I spent a day on a travel through Puglia. This little Village is typical for the area and has some spectacular views to the sea side, wich I showed before. This panorama from the main square was taken during a funeral and if the scene would not have been as colorful and the brass band not as good, it could have been out of a Fellini movie.
Southern Italy, Puglia, the land of the famous trulli. After visiting those Iin Alberobello, I had a look at the surrounding area, and found the village of Locorotondo with a spectacular sky behind it.
