Lago d'Antorno
Lago d'Antorno is a stunning alpine lake located in the heart of the Dolomites, a mountain range in northeastern Italy. The lake is surrounded by towering peaks and lush forests, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers alike. The crystal-clear waters of the lake reflect the surrounding mountains, creating a breathtaking scene that is perfect for capturing stunning landscape photographs. There are several photography locations around the lake, including the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a trio of towering peaks that are a must-see for any photographer visiting the Dolomites. Other popular spots include the nearby Misurina Lake and the surrounding hiking trails, which offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
I don't know if this picture is my best photo of 2018, but I'm very proud of it because it was chosen by National Geographic editors as DAILY DOZEN - Oct 29, 2018.
This photo was taken in Lake Antorno, a small lake located about 2 km north of the most famous lake of Misurina, next to the road that goes up to Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Dolomiti, Italy.
The technique used was a focus stacking, in fact it was my first focus stacking.

Il lago d'Antorno (talvolta anche lago Antorno) è un piccolo lago situato circa 2 km a nord del più celebre lago di Misurina, poco a lato della strada a pedaggio che sale da Misurina verso il rifugio Auronzo e le Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
Sulla sponda occidentale sorge l'omonimo chalet; durante i mesi estivi, è possibile praticare la pesca sportiva. Nelle vicinanze del lago passano molti percorsi escursionistici verso le montagne circostanti, in particolare il Sorapiss, il monte Piana, la catena dei Cadini di Misurina oltre alle già citate Tre Cime.
