Ragusa, located in the southeastern part of Sicily, is a charming city that boasts a rich history and stunning architecture. The city is divided into two parts, Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa Superiore, both of which offer a plethora of photography locations. Ragusa Ibla is the older part of the city and is known for its narrow streets, Baroque architecture, and beautiful churches. The Cathedral of San Giorgio, the Church of Santa Maria delle Scale, and the Palazzo La Rocca are just a few of the many stunning buildings that can be found in this area. Ragusa Superiore, on the other hand, is the newer part of the city and is home to the beautiful Piazza della Repubblica and the Palazzo Zacco.
An evening in Ragusa. I chose this spot for the best evening light. A general view of "Ragusa Ibla", the old Ragusa. In 1693 it was devastated by a huge earthquake, which killed 5.000 inhabitants. After that catastrophe the city was largely rebuilt, and many Baroque buildings from this time are still there.
This is the fantastic view onto the opposite old "Ragusa ibla" right from the balcony of our accommodation. Lucky us. But there was much more to explore in this romantic, atmospheric old streets, wich reminded me a little bit of the "sassi" in the town of Matera in Puglia.
Strolling through empty alleys of Ragusa Ibla at night. The dome in the back belongs to the "Duomo di San Giorgio".
A fascinating landscape made of old roofs. View of Ragusa Ibla in the early evening.

A masterpiece of baroque architecture, the Duomo of San Giorgio, located at the Piazza Duomo, wich is the busiest place of Ragusa Ibla with lots of shops and restaurants.
