The Ancient theatre in Taormina was built by the Romans on the site of an earlier Greek one. It is the largest theatre in Sicily after that of Siracusa. Today it is frequently used for operatic and theatrical performances and for concerts. The highest mountain in the back is volcano Etna.

After a 2 week trip through Sicily I can present the first photos. Taormina was a great start and a real highlight of this trip. On "Piazza IX Aprile" at blue hour you can understand why this place is so famous. HDR panorama from 9x3 shots, original size 17000 pix.
