Yucatán

Yucatán is a state located in the southeastern part of Mexico, known for its rich history, culture, and natural beauty. The region is home to some of the most stunning photography locations in the country, including ancient Mayan ruins, colonial cities, and breathtaking beaches. The state's capital, Mérida, is a vibrant city with colorful architecture, bustling markets, and lively festivals. The nearby town of Valladolid is another popular destination for photographers, with its charming streets, colonial buildings, and cenotes (natural swimming holes). The Yucatán Peninsula is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico, such as Tulum and Playa del Carmen, which offer stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

TEARS OF SAMULÀ
Cenote Samula
by Nenad Spasojevic

Lets talk technique? I know we should probably discuss beauty of this place too but I think the photo is worth a 1000 words and you have to experience it to believe it! The challenge was to put this image together because of the dynamic range of light from the dome opening to the upper corner of the dome where I was standing. I had to shoot 15 exposures and manually blend them using only luminosity masks to get this to look how I saw it. What do you think?
