Fairy Pools is a magical destination located in the Isle of Skye, Scotland. This natural wonder is a series of crystal-clear pools and waterfalls that are surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. The pools are known for their vibrant blue and green hues, which are caused by the minerals in the water. Fairy Pools is a popular spot for photographers, as it offers a plethora of opportunities to capture the beauty of nature. The location is perfect for landscape photography, with its dramatic mountain ranges, cascading waterfalls, and serene pools.

I was doing a spot of archive mining, and thought this might add a bit of variety to my recent set of images. The Fairy Pools of Skye are a familiar and iconic location, and for good reason. A set of cascades leading down from the finest mountain range in these Isles - the Black Cuillin. This shot was taken towards to the top of the cascades, at a moment when the sun came out and lit up the foreground, whilst the mountain tops were still draped in heavy cloud. I would recommend visiting out of season, at the height of summer, this place is swarming with people! Fortuantely on the day I visited, there were only a handful of folk sharing the magnificent view.

Almost... The Fairy Pools that is, wasn't a lot of water flowing down the various falls but it was/is always worth the walk to the very top just for a look see.
