Cape Blanco State Park

Cape Blanco State Park is a stunning coastal destination located in the southwestern region of Oregon. This park is known for its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and historic lighthouse, making it a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts and photographers alike. The park offers a variety of photography locations, including the Cape Blanco Lighthouse, which is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse in Oregon. Other popular spots include the beach, where visitors can capture stunning sunsets and wildlife, and the nearby Hughes House, a beautifully preserved Victorian-era home that offers a glimpse into the region's rich history.

One more shot of the Cape Blanco Lighthouse. This is one location during our trip to Oregon that I was not quite happy about. The light was so harsh here even in late afternoon I don’t believe I managed to get a decent enough shot of this beautiful lighthouse. This is the one I liked the most of the shots I have taken at this location. I took this picture lying down on the ground and using the tall grass that surrounds the meadow as a foreground interest.

I hope to return soon and hopefully get a gorgeous sunset against this beautiful lighthouse.

The second stop on our trip was at Cape Blanco Lighthouse, the most southern of all Oregon's lighthouses, and is the westernmost point in Oregon. Proposed in 1864, it was the first lighthouse in the state outfitted with a first-order Fresnel lens in 1870.

Unfortunately I did not plan a lot of time along the Oregon coast and we reached the lighthouse while the sun was directly above us. This is one of the best shots I managed to get with the lighthouse, hopefully I will be able to get back here during golden hour and give this stunning lighthouse the respect it deserves.

Thanks for visiting and have a nice day..
