DARK LIGHT
Wells Street Bridge Views
by Nenad Spasojevic

Bridge lifting anyone? Ever since I came to Chicago I’ve been planning to capture this event and every year I forget! Finally after multiple reminders by the people I know and a few device reminders I got out with my wife to photograph the event today and we had a blast. Since we did’t know how the schedule works and how fast they will open the bridges we had to run around, real hard! I’m very excited to share this with you. What do you think?

Is it over yet? By looking at todays forecast I don’t think so! So while I’m waiting for the weather to change, lets look at another post from one of the foggy nights from the river walk. I personally love this moody nights just because they turn the ordinary location into something different and that’s what Chicago is all about. I’m still enjoying it very much! What do you think?

LA SALLE
Wells Street Bridge Views

It's always good to be patient, right? Well I can tell you that I was running out of it pretty quickly that evening! To execute my plan from the N Wells St bridge was bordering impossible. Constant traffic on the bridge, the trains running on top of it every 20 sec, it makes it so hard to bracket shots at this hour that I wanted to quit after 15 min. Anyway, two hours later and a full 128GB memory card I was able to cover the dynamic range needed and get 6 sharp exposures to finish this peace. I was shooting with the 24mm tilt-shift lens, shifting the lens up to get the right perspective and frame the most of the buildings. What do you think?

How often do you go out and shoot? I almost didn’t go out yesterday because of the bad weather. In the last moment I decided to do it and just went out while it was pouring heavily. I had couple of new locations in my mind but two of them were not accessible due to heavy rain outside. This location was the better option out of three and I still got wet waiting for the right moment. I had to wipe the water of the camera numerous times, but I was persistent on shooting hoping to get what I wanted at the end. I’ve seen couple of post from ere before but getting the usual shot wasn’t an option. So what do you think?

Is it always about fun? If you ask me, the answer is always YES! Playing with textures, looks and a different perspectives to capture this city never gets old. It keeps my mind in shape and I think it really inspires my creative process in general. This shot takes us back to the Chicago’s River Walk and a few good moments spent with some friendly faces. What do you think?
