The Flatiron Building, originally the Fuller Building, is a triangular 22-story landmarked building located at Fifth Avenue.
Das Flat Iron Building Ecke 5th Avenue 23rd Street ist wohl einer der ungewöhnlichsten Wolkenkratzer New Yorks. Das "Bügeleisen" wurde 1902 fertiggestellt. Nikon D800 Tamron 15-30mm f72,8 HDR 3 Aufnahmen, Photomatix und Photoshop
You might be wondering how all this came about? This was one of those perfect mornings that started as a complete chaos! At the very end, low hanging clouds and sun cutting the thick fog at the horizon were enough to make me forget all occurring problems I was having at that time. Without going in too many details I will let the view speak for it self. What do you think?

“Do not go gentle in to that good night but rage, rage against the dying of the light” - Dylan Thomas
I’ve heard stories about weather in Chicago, and today I was able to experience so many extremes weather wise that I had to stay outside the entire day and shoot more than 10 hours, on several different locations. I was deliberating on going back to this location tonight because of the storm that was brewing. Boy, I’m glad I did! In just under two hours I was able to witness the crazy thunderstorms , double rainbow and the sunset that was beyond anything I saw before. I hope I was able to manage to capture everything and I can’t wait to show it to you. For the beginning, this is a lucky shot of the lightning that was an opening for this crazy evening. What do you think?
Throwback? After all this moody weather I’m still in that mood so let’s go back to some past storms! As I’m always looking for sunrise, sunset, or anything in between I have passed this location numerous times waiting for something interesting to happen. You just have to be here when the conditions are right. That evening was really special! It was moody, and I was anticipating a change in the sky after the monsoon rain. I was all wet and I knew I had to find a shelter and wait, so I did. And than it all finally happened! What do you think?

April, a nice walk in New York... I took many photos of the flat iron this morning... But this one was adviced me by my daughter, she told me "you should take these tulips as foreground", and I did so. And guess what... It's the best one of the series! :) Lens: Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 (click to see all my photos with this lens)

You heard this one before? I always get a good laugh when I hear people being surprised with the snow storm in December. I was also pretty bummed when I saw that the snow finally arrived and I wasn’t able to be out and enjoy it! This is a frame from the last, long and cold winter just for todays mood. It was shot from the one and only NA Beach. What do you think?
Have you been chasing light last night? I sure had my hopes high and at the end in the typical Chicago style sunset changed it’s course and the color didn’t hit with the full potential. But I am happy with the final result. As you can see I went with the long exposure this time just because I was able to find my ND’s after six month search. And guess what? They were hiding in the plain site all this time :) What do you think?
Hope your week started good. Weather here in Chicago is back to rain and gray, but hey weekend was awesome! Since I’m still under the impression here is one of my sunrise frames from yesterday. A little color on this gray morning. What do you think?

There are very few places in and around Manhattan which allows a shot like this. Usually all overpasses are fenced with little room left to...
The flatiron building from in front of the fifth Ave Clock. As I went for my trip across Manhattan yesterday the weather was supposed to be nice and sunny with a lots of interesting clouds in the sky. But when I got out of my home in Brooklyn the sky was clear blue with nary a cloud in sight. So no interesting sky and lots of harsh lighting to deal with. Yay!!
But I went out anyway and visited most of the locations I had planned to visit and since this has been my fave NYC landmark (I like it even better than the Empire state building) I waited till evening before heading here hoping that the light will be better. Unfortunately this was not the case and the building iwas a challenge to photograph as the roads in this intersection are curved and tricky and the streets teaming with shoppers and tourists that it’s almost impossible to get a clear shot here. This was one of the better shots I took yesterday but I want to return here again with a more interesting view point and when the sky is a bit more interesting.

The Château de Chambord is one of the most recognisable châteaux in the world because of its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture which blends traditional French medieval forms with classical Renaissance structures. The building, which was never completed, was constructed by Francis I.

Is it already over? Judging by today’s temperature it certainly feels like it! But I’ve heard that there is some more snow coming in this weekend so we should all get ready for some more shooting and fun. This is the early morning shot from Saturday at the N.Avenue Beach. What do you think?
