Krimml - Water Symphony
Krimmler Waterfall

Sooo much better On Black

Here's another shot of the Krimml Waterfalls which I shot at 6 in the morning. It shows the lower cascade in the back which drops more than 50 meters I think, just that you get a feeling for it's scale.

I did a dri panorama here to follow the stream a bit. The sun was softly painting the trees on the left side, all in all a beautiful scene and I hope I brought it into this photo.

Krimml - Twilight

View On Black

And yet another shot from the Krimml Falls in austria. This was shot before sunrise, thus the blue tint. I could have done another white-balance but I wanted this cool feeling of twilight in the picture. For me this looks a bit ethereal but that might be my own sentimental impression ;-)

I did 2 exposures here to get back a little detail in the fall in the back (simple blending in postproc). I used f/13 which I found is still a very sharp f-stop for my tokina lense with not much diffraction noticable on my crop camera. So quite the optimum in case of dof versus sharpness for me

Krimml - Roaring Waters
Krimmler Waterfall

View On White

Another one of my ongoing Krimml series. Here a little bit closer and with shorter exposure to emphasize the force of the water a bit more. Black and white also helped me focus on the contrast and give this scene a little more drama.

A little side story for the ones who want to photograph this fall. Even this far away (100 meters or so) you need to repeatedly whip your lense clean because there's so much spray in the air ;-) When the wind turns it can get wet very fast so a little raincover for your camera might also be usefull
