Taken from a high rise hotel located in Dubai Marina.
Just to give you an idea of the size of that marina, what you see here is barely a quarter of the whole marina. The marina stretches over 3 kilometers.
Many thanks to my good friend from Qatar arfromqatar who always carefully selects his hotels in Dubai, which have the best vantage points!

A few weeks ago I posted a same view (Infinity Vertigo), but shot with the Fuji X-E2 and Fujinon 14mm. This one was shot with the D800 & Nikkor 16mm Fisheye.
This was shot from the 73th floor rooftop of the Cayan Tower (formerly known as Infinity Tower) in Dubai Marina.

Fujifilm Middle East & Africa kindly loaned me their latest X-E2, with the Fujinon 14mm. They promised me the 10-24mm when it will be available, sometime in February.
So this is my first shot with the Fujifilm X-E2 & Fujinon 14mm
This is shot from the 73th floor rooftop of the twisted Cayan Tower (formerly known as Infinity Tower) in Dubai Marina. You can clearly see the twisting angle, even though it is not as dramatic as seen from the ground level.
This is a shot I always wanted to do, but I could only do it with very light camera such as the Fujifilm X-E2. This was shot handheld, using a monopod, and me holding the monopod 1.5 meters away from the building. Hence I had to shoot at a minimum shutter speed of 1/30s, I had to push the X-E2 to its limits. This is a Vertical Panorama, 2 shots at f/2.8, 1/30s, ISO 3200!
I used a climbing rope to secure the camera to the monopod, and the monopod to my body, to avoid any catastrophic event.
It was fun yet challenging, no way to compose the shot, so I had to shoot 'blindly' and try several orientations of the camera.

Panorama shot with the Nikkor 24mm PC-E Tilt Shift, hence avoiding the usual UWA lens distortion found in the many photos shot from that vantage point.
Full resolution: 84 Mpix.

Extreme weather in Dubai these past days, thunderstorms, heavy rain, floods, and fog. Was lucky enough to be awake at 3am and noticed the fog building up in Dubai Marina. Went to the rooftop (73rd floor) of Cayan Tower to capture this dreamy scenery.
