Here's the typical photo of the Vatican one has to take when visiting Rome :-) I didn't get a colorful sunset that evening, but the blue hour as usual didn't dissapoint and once all the city lights went on it looked quite magical.
Also, if you have a few minutes and are interested in post processing, my newest youtube tutorial about advanced masking and selections in photoshop might be of interest for you.

Búðir is a small hamlet in Búðahraun lava fields in Staðarsveit, on the westernmost tip of the Snaefellsnes peninsula. This stark looking church faces the Snæfellsjökull glacier.
On the south coast of Iceland's Snæfellsnes peninsula, there's a village with only a hotel and a tiny black church called the Búðakirkja. ... The church is a listed building owned by the National Museum of Iceland, but it is in the care of the Búðir parish.

Florence Cathedral
Grand Duke Cosimo I de' Medici decided to have the dome painted with a representation of The Last Judgment. This enormous work, 3,600 metres² (38 750 ft²) of painted surface, was started in 1568 by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari and would last till 1579. The upper portion, near the lantern, representing The 24 Elders of Apoc. 4 was finished by Vasari before his death in 1574. Federico Zuccari and a number of collaborators, such as Domenico Cresti, finished the other portions: (from top to bottom) Choirs of Angels; Christ, Mary and Saints; Virtues, Gifts of the Holy Spirit and Beatitudes; and at the bottom of the cupola: Capital Sins and Hell. These frescoes are considered Zuccari's greatest work. But the quality of the work is uneven because of the input of different artists and the different techniques. Vasari had used true fresco, while Zuccari had painted in secco. During the restoration work, which ended in 1995, the entire pictorial cycle of The Last Judgment was photographed with specially designed equipment and all the information collected in a catalogue. All the restoration information along with reconstructed images of the frescos were stored and managed in the Thesaurus Florentinus computer system. (Wiki)

Another interior shot, only this time in color. This basilica is one of my latest accidental discoveries. It is located just outside the downtown area and it is a perfect place for taking some interior shot for those who like doing that. Since the temperatures are sky high I like taking some indoors location a killing time time during the day. What do you think?

Years ago I saw a photograph of this spot and ever since I have wanted to go there myself. The chance finally came last Autumn and I spent 1 night in the area, and was so lucky to get this wonderful light and sky at Sunset. It was the first photo shoot of a 4 week Balkan trip, and after this, nothing could go wrong. At some point I will have to go back to get the nearby church of Sta Maddalena, but I hear that it suffers from terrible over-population by photographers, whereas here, (after the Chines wedding couples cleared out) there were only 3 other photographers.

This is one of the photos from last years Autumn trip to the Balkans, when I was lucky to get this wonderful sunset sky on my one evening stopover in the Dolomites.

St Patrick’s Cathedral located at 5th Ave in Manhattan is one of the famous architectural landmarks of New York City. The Cathedral is a stunning example of Neo-Gothic Church architecture and was built in 1958 taking twenty yeas for completion in 1978. The Cathedral is located on 5th Ave between 50th and 51st St right next to the Rockefeller Centre and is currently undergoing renovation.
This is one of those amazing architecture structures which stayed with me and I finally got a chance to photography the beautifully striking innards of the cathedral couple of weeks ago. As one would expect the inside was pretty dark and with the security not allowing tripods, this was one tough shot to make.
I ended up hand holding the camera and cranking up the D7000 to 2500 ISO to get the three HDR shots. The fact that there was a wedding going on at the cathedral didn’t make the matters any easier as most f the locations were out of reach for visitors. If you look hard enough you can see the bride and groom at the bottom middle part of the shot and gives you an idea of the size of the church. I also thought the 2500 ISO on my D7000 cleans up so good as the shot came so much better than I thought and I barely had to sacrifice any details. One thing I learned though was that the results look a lot better if you process the RAW files for noise and lens correction before you combine them for HDR.
I am loving the results and hope everyone likes it…
This is one of many picturesque, hilltop churches, that lie dotted over the Slovenian countryside.
