The Blaiskaith Waterfall tumbles gently over the now disused “Linn Caves” which were created around the 1850s for the extraction of Limestone, the caves can be entered with due care and recede some distance behind the waterfall.

The shrine was opened in Campsie Glen in 1989 by Sister Xavera who brought Schoenstatt to Scotland in 1962 by building a centre for German Catholic residents. It is nestled in 17 secluded acres at the foot of the Campsie Fells around 16 kilometres north of the City of Glasgow. Schoenstatt Scotland has become for many a haven of peace and refuge from the bustle and clamour of the outside world, a true sanctuary and simple retreat.
