Another shot from Emerald Bay state park, Lake Tahoe California. I took this shot during sunrise on the second day of our visit shortly after the eagle falls shot. This was actually the view from the road which twists through the extremely challenging landscape. I actually only saw this as we were returning from eagle falls. My wife and I both got our legs wet while crossing the stream were cold and I was seriously considering whether to get out of the warm car for this shot or not.
I am glad I did. Thanks for visiting, have a great day..

Since we moved to our So Cal residence over a year ago, I haven’t had a chance to see many impressive waterfalls except a couple in the Big Sur region. So during our trip to Lake Tahoe I made it a point to scout pout some waterfalls nearby and one of the most recommended one was Glen Alpine falls near the fallen leaf lake are in South Lake Tahoe.
It was bit tough to find the actual falls but once we found it we enjoyed this amazing falls with all its heavy water flow and roaring sounds. If you are visiting the area this is a must see.

Another sunrise shot from the Eagle Falls location. This one is more of a conservative shot taken right on top of the fall. Watching the sun rise above the mountains and Emerald way while experiencing this roaring waterfalls is a must have if you are visiting the Lake Tahoe area. During the time of our visit due to snow melt the falls had healthy water levels and it was a bit hard to get this location but during summer it should be a breeze.
Thanks for visiting and have a nice day..
Made my first trip up to Tahoe this weekend, and while the weather was very nice, it wasn't ideal for photography. I went out both Saturday and...

Emerald Bay, South Lake Tahoe is one of the most famous view points along coast and is also quite easy to get to. We reached here for a sunrise shot so the weather was pretty chilly and we realized that to get the best shot we need to actually cross the stream as the clearing between the two falls provided the best view. It was a bit scary to wade through the ice cold stream wearing sandals but it was fun and we reached the clearing and from the beginning I wanted to include the tree to the left in the frame and use a more normal focal length than the usual Wide Angle, so I used Nikkor 18-35 in portrait mode at 35mm and combined 3 shots to get the view.
Thanks for visiting and have great Tuesday.
