I'd completely forgotten about the mills at Fladbury near Evesham unitl I was reminded of them by fellow Flickr folk Mark and Paul.
There are two mills on the River Avon at Fladbury, either end of the weir. This is Cropthorne Mill, which is possibly the more photogenic of the two.
Thanks very much for looking.
Fladbury Mill in Worcestershire, taken on a beautiful afternon in March. The river Avon is running quite low at the moment after a period of dry weather, revealing the small islands in the flow.
As seen on BBC Weather!
Sometimes being Dad's Taxi has the advantage of taking you somewhere you would not otherwise have been. So it was the other day when one of my brood needed to be dropped off in Pershore, and as there was a bit of colour in the sky I decided to chance my arm in Fladbury. A reminder to always take the camera (and the dog...). Cropthorne Mill is too low to catch the setting sun, but it is a fine spot when the sky colours up behind it. For those wondering why it is called Cropthorne Mill when it is in Fladbury, it is because there are two mills at this point - Fladbury Mill on the west side of the river, and Cropthorne Mill on the east side. Cropthorne Mill is Grade 2 listed.
Thanks to all Phoide contributors to Fladbury Mill!
Most notably Clive Griffiths.
