Highland Morning
River Coe Falls
by Pete Rowbottom

Explore #6 28/09/17

A typically biiterly cold morning in Glencoe after a very early start (aborted attempt to) shoot sunrise further South at Lochan Nah - Aclaise, but the snow had been falling far too hard to even get out of the car and chance anything there, driving in it wasn't exactly fun either without snow tyres so I had retreated back further North again with empty hands, the heavy snow had yet to reach these parts for today and allowed me 30 minutes or so shooting here before breakfast in very overcast stormy conditions but with some nice light breaking through the cloud in intervals minimal use of filters needed to get a decent shutter speed on the falls.

By the time breakfast was done in the Chlachaig this was completely white.

Another one from the archives that had escaped attention, Just South of Glencoe this is a well known spot that's always worth a visit, especially after decent rainfall, which is definitely plentiful in these parts!

GARDEN OF EDEN

Do you like to shoot landscapes? This Is one of my favorite spots here in Chicago. Since there is not that much opportunities for me to shoot landscapes in the city I often venture to this botanical gardens. I’m always very excited to visit and photograph this place under various light conditions. Today was very cloudy and cold day. It wasn’t crowded because of the Thanksgiving holiday so I seized the opportunity to take some photos without any interruptions. Due to the lack of color and contrast infrared was my choice for todays shoot. It helped with both in my opinion. What do you think?

If you are wondering? Yes we are still in Chicago! If you already didn’t, go and check this place out right now. It’s beautiful in any season. This Japanese Garden is just one part of the Chicago Botanic Garden and it’s free all year round. There is always some kind of art exhibition going on and a bunch of activities at any time. It’s a perfect de-stress place. This frame is from the last large snow storm. What do you think?
