Antibes, Cote d'Azur during sunrise. Last week I returned from a 16 day road trip through southern france. First I went to visit the Lavender fields around Valensole and the Verdon Canyon. I continued the journey in Cassis and from there went along the Cote d'Azur.

For my taste there are to many citys at the coast there and I enjoyed my time in the back country much more than the coast. But I couldn't resisit to explore the area a bit during sunrise. Then it's quite calm and I had those beautiful views for myself, as here in Antibes.

Pour sa première sortie depuis le confinement, j'ai accompagné mon appareil sur un site que j'affectionne particulièrement, le Cap d'Antibes.

For its first outing since confinement, I accompanied my camera to a site that I particularly like, Cap d'Antibes.

Ce petit port est situé au sud-ouest des Alpes-Maritimes et sur les contreforts de l'Esterel.

Photo prise au format DX pour passer mon 24-70 à 105mm. Mais j'ai encore dù recadrer l'image en post-traitement ce qui implique une perte de résolution.

Photo taken in DX format to pass my 24-70 to 105mm. But I still had to crop the image in post-processing which implies a loss in resolution.

La première fois que j'ai voulu prendre cette structure en photo, il y a un peu plus d'un an, je suis arrivé sur le port d'Antibes 1 heure avant le lever du jour pour me rendre compte que la structure était complètement bachée pour cause de rénovation. Quelques mois après, j'avais rendez-vous avec mon confrère, Antoine, pour renouveler l'opérartion nomade de grand matin afin de bénéficier d'une belle lumière. Mais ce matin là, nous avons appris à notre plus grand désespoir que le site était fermé pour cause de régates. Le 31 janvier de cette année, en passant à proximité du site, nous avons décidé de nous y arrêter quelques instants en pleine journée pour enfin essayer de capturer ce fameux nomade. N'étant pas satisfait du résultat, j'y suis donc retourné une quatrième fois et, après 1h30 d'attente, je suis arrivé à... ça. Après ce long palabre, je vous renvoie auprès de ANTOINE ASARO pour le descriptif de cette sculture :)

The first time I wanted to take a picture of this structure, a little over a year ago, I arrived at the port of Antibes 1 hour before daybreak to realize that the structure was completely covered for renovation. A few months later, I had an appointment with my colleague, Antoine, to renew the nomadic operation early in the morning in order to benefit from a beautiful light. But this morning, we learned to our greatest despair that the site was closed due to regattas. On January 31 of this year, passing near the site, we decided to stop there for a few moments in the middle of the day to finally try to capture this famous nomad. Not being satisfied with the result, I went back there a fourth time and, after an hour and a half wait, I arrived at ... that. After this long palaver, I send you back to near ANTOINE ASARO for the description of this sculpture :)

Le château de La Napoule est situé sur la commune de Mandelieu-la-Napoule, dans le département des Alpes-Maritimes. Édifié au XIVe siècle par les comtes de Villeneuve sur la route du bord de mer, le château et ses jardins sont inscrits monuments historiques par arrêté du 6 janvier 1947 et le parc est labellisé « Jardin remarquable ». Ce château a subi au cours des siècles de nombreuses transformations, étant même transformé en verrerie au XIXe siècle.

Le port Pierre-Canto est un port de plaisance situé à Cannes. Premier port privé d'Europe, il est inauguré le 19 juillet 1965 et peut accueillir plus de 500 bateaux.
