Gulf of Castellammare

This unique small beach with its bizarre rocks rising out of the cristal clear waters, is one of the most popular sights in the whole area of Castellammare. The former flourishing tuna fishery has recently been restored and now offers delightful holiday flats for rent and bathing pleasure for a small entrance fee. Sadly it is completely crowded and the destination of hundreds of excursion boats daily. This photo was taken early in the morning before it gets really crowded.

The port of Castellammare in the evening, finally a spot worth a large panorama. Lots of restaurants and bars, very popular and well frequented even in Corona times. Excellent base from which to explore this beautiful corner of Sicily. We loved it.

A scene from the film "Ocean's 12" from Steven Soderbergh, with Brad Pitt and Catherine Zeta-Jones, was filmed here in 2004.

Going back to my Sicily photos from July this summer. I showed one from the harbor of Castellammare before. This was a little later in the evening and showed some more lights and reflections.

Former tuna fishery in western Sicily, it's private property now and charges an entrance fee, and most of the site seems to be off limits even for...
