The contrast program continues. As we can't travel at the moment, I spend quite a lot of time digging in old material and reworking some of my old favorite photos. Recently I was browsing through some Hamburg photos here on Flickr, wich reminded me on this unique evening wich I spent photographing the gorgeous Speicherstadt. I've already posted this photo here, but I thought I could do it better. This came out. Hope you like it.

The Speicherstadt in Hamburg, is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations, oak logs, in this particular case. It is located in the port of Hamburg—within the HafenCity quarter—and was built from 1883 to 1927.
The district was built as a free zone to transfer goods without paying customs. As of 2009 the district and the surrounding area is under redevelopment. As the first site in Hamburg, it has been awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site on 5 July 2015.

Überseequartier is a through station on the Hamburg U-Bahn line U4. The station was opened in November 2012 and is located in the Hamburg district of HafenCity, Germany.
This is the old warehouse district of Hamburg port, the largest of it's kind in the world. The area has been completely renovated and modernised and now houses offices, hotels, apartments etc. Since 3 years it is also on the Unesco World Heritage List. This is an incredibly popular photo location, and I stood there between 12 other photographers, but it had been on my wish list for quite some time.

The Plaza is the stop between the traditional harbor storage and the glassy new building of the Elbphilharmonie: at 37 meters, the public viewing platform offers an all-around view of the city and the harbor.
