Most prominent building is the " Cattedrale metropolitana della Natività di Maria Santissima" the cathedral of Syracuse. All buildings made of typical white sandstone, a wonderful contrast to the blue evening sky.

One highlight of the "Ortigia", the historical center of Syracuse, is this wonderful fountain by Giulio Moschetti. Built in 1906 in the middle of a busy square named Piazza Archimede.
