Courtyard of the British Museum in London. Panorama out of 4x3 vertical shots, handheld with the Fuji X100F. Worked on this for a while to bring out some of the fine contrasts in the white stone.
The subway tunnel is a newly built 90m long pedestrian tunnel at King’s Cross. The beautifully designed tunnel links the two arterial transport hubs – St Pancras International and King’s Cross Underground stations – to the new public spaces, restaurants, offices and homes at King’s Cross. The gently curving underground tunnel features an ‘art wall’ made from LED lights, which will be used to showcase artistic commissions. The art light wall was designed by Spiers & Major and built by The Light Lab. Running the length of the tunnel the light wall contains 190 controllable vertical pixels set behind 12mm toughened glass.
5 exposures at -1.3EV, -0.7EV, 0EV, +0.7EV and +1.3EV tonemapped using Photomatix Pro then edited using DxO Photolab.
A simple display of light / dark and spirals provided kindly by the fantastic architechture in Heals department store in London, ironically the store was really busy, yet everybody else seemed to be unaware of the most interesting part of the building.

It is divided into two parts, named the East and West cemetery. There are approximately 170,000 people buried in around 53,000 graves at Highgate Cemetery. Highgate Cemetery is notable both for some of the people buried there as well as for its de facto status as a nature reserve. - Wikipedia

The great court @ the british museum
Subway connections.
The first image I've uploaded to this site with the fantastic Fuji X100S. The Rainbow Tunnel is a great bit of modern (or retro) design depending on which way you look at it, hidden away under London, not the easiest of locations to find, and easily missed, the walls inside here change colour and contrast against the black and white lined opposite wall making for some interesting images, pick your composition and just add some passers by to the scene...Quite a rare shot for me as it's not very often I include people in my images.

An apparently simple staircase allowed me to realize this splendid shoot which perfectly expresses my continued research of an ideal photo composition: a beautiful abstract form (an eye) extracted from a daily life object (staircase).
London
Another visit to the Capital, this time trying to get some different, less obvious images, one from Central London yesterday, a phenomenal staircase in a department store of all places, that seemingly goes on upwards forever . . .

Shot in the fantastic British Museum in London, a really great bright day allowing loads of light in through the roof reflecting off all the bright surfaces, fisheye lens for a change in perspective here, had to wait for a while to just get a singular person in the shot to show the scale of the place but hopefully was worth it.

It did not take long before they chased me away with my tripod. But I had a few shots in the box. 😄
My first 'interior' posting. This beautiful spiral staircase was made by Cecil Brewer for Heal's Furniture Store in 1916. In 2013 a grand restoration took place with the addition of the current chandelier. It is said to be the most photographed staircase in London.

The future of human presence.
London, Through the fisheye...... the modern variant of St Pancras station, nowadays as well as heading to such salubrious destinations like Derby and Loughborough, now you can also head to low key destinations such as Paris, and maybe Brussels, the transformation of the station from what is was is unbelievable, and it has to be said utterly stunning, inside, and out. No distortion correction on this, I wanted as bendy as possible looking down the structure, Can you manage to spot the tigers face?
Amazingly now a few times I've shot in this location, and there seems to be no hassle photographing here, same for Kings Cross, rare for London.
If you are photographing in London it's well worth taking a look at this website:
