Well this is a DRI Panorama I shot this weekend in Würzburg. I'm very happy about how it came out because I didn't plan for this. Initially I was planning to do some Landscpae shooting this weekend. I did some scouting in the evening and wanted to get up early to catch a nice sunrise.. Well clock was ringing at 5am but when I looked out -> RAIN :-( These where not the conditions I had in mind so I went back to bed. I was a little dissapointed because the whole day was rainy. But in the evening when I was driving back to Erlangen I noticed a nice sky building up when I was near Würzburg. I already had Würzburg on my list for some time and headed there. Fortunately I had my Panoramic head with me so I could take in the whole sunset. Even better exacly when the sunstar showed as you see in the image, was the only time when the bridge was nearly emptied and no groups of people passing by. So no retouching needed here :-)
For the DRI blending of the separate images I used enfuse -> see my blog for detailed tutorial on how to use it. The panorama stitching I did with hugin. I think there will be a tutorial soon ;-) I let the horizon bend a little to get an even stonger center and all lines leading in there.

It was taken on Old Bridge at early morning.
Würzburg is a city in the region of Franconia, Northern Bavaria, Germany. Located on the Main River, it is the capital of the Regierungsbezirk Lower Franconia.
This picture was taken last summer on a bicycle trip from Bamberg to Aschaffenburg (336 km) along the river Main . A beautiful and worth seeing German region full of old and historical towns and cities.
A view overlooking the Main River towards the Mariënberg Fortress on the hill.
At last here's a photo from Germany again. I have still some seascapes from Portugal but I thought I need to get out soon to take some other photos so you're not completely bored ;-)
This weekend I went visiting my parents and I took the opportunity to do some hiking in the Rhön, the middle german highlands. I found this tree through google and flickr and on friday evening I went there to do some scouting. The next morning I got up 5am and went up there again. The conditions were nice, there was still hoar frost on the grasses and it was such a quiet morning.
In the background you see the first light of the sun lightening up the valley which I wanted to capture. With the chilly foreground I think this is a nice contrast. Hope you like it. Next photo will be a seascape again I think.
Details about the shot: Lee 0.6 hard grad, Hoya hd pol, 2 exposures focusstacked for sharpness

A village view that reminds me of the famous town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, but much less visited and photographed.
Residenz Würzburg,. Bavaria, Germany
One of the many fascinating faces of Bavaria.
Morning blue hour on this pretty bridge over the River Main. It reminded me of the Charles Bridge in Prague, but with a fraction of the tourists. It is difficult to see on the photo, but the statues of the saints on the bridge were all donned with anti corona face masks.
Johannisburg Castle at sunset on the shores of the Main River in the Bavarian town of Aschaffenburg. The red sandstone castle was built in the early 1600's as residence for the Prince Bishop of Mainz.
Marienkapelle,. Würzburg,. Bavaria, Germany
The waterfall Devil's Mill in the german Rhön isn't easy to photograph. There's to much stones, branches cluttering the area so that it's hard to find a clean composition. This here's the best I could come up with.
I had to go for bw and some contrast reductions to get a cleaner look here. After all the water should be the focus here.
I used a polarizer and a lee 0.9 ND to get a good exposure.
PS: there are still a lot Seychelle photos in line but I wanted to provide a little change in between :-)
