The Veins Of Dubai #8

Type 'L' for the mandatory LARGE view!

Another addition to my 'Veins' series, this was shot 10 months ago, I completely forgot about it. I should check my hard drive more often! :-)

This was shot from a helipad located on the 60th floor in Dubai Business Bay.

You can see the main highway (Sheikh Zayed Road) which goes all the way through the Emirate. On the right side, parallel to the road are the Dubai Metro tracks. With 75 km of tracks, Dubai Metro is the world's longest fully automated metro network.

2 exposures Digital Blending, shot with my Tamron 17-50mm @50mm

Press L for the best view!

Today, a very clear sky in Dubai, and thanks to friend of mine who gave me access to the helipad of a 60 floors building from where I took this shot. More to come soon!

Press L for the best view!

Taken from the same helipad from my previous shot, this time looking in the opposite direction.

You can clearly see the Burj Al Arab, the Jumeira Palm Island and The Atlantis hotel, and the buildings on the far end are in Dubai Marina, where I live.

I don't like the building on the left, but it was very difficult to compose differently as I was already completely on the right side. I also did not want to crop out the building and then cut off the main 'vein' and also lose all the details on the left far end.

Dubai Hyper Mega Fountains

Shot from a high tower located in Business Bay. I used my Nikkor 70-200mm f/28.8 VRII (@200mm), and of course needed to do some magic with Digital Blending to achieve such a shot. The buildings are from digital blending of 5 bracketed exposures at ISO 100 f/8 1 to 16s. The fountains were shots at ISO 1000 f/2.8 1/200s and combined with the buildings.

One of those rare haze free and cloudy dusk in Dubai :)

Just to give you an order of the scale, this tower is 828 meters high (163 habitable floors + 46 maintenance floors in the spire). The Address Hotel on the right looks very small with its 63 floors.
