A fair few visits now to this location and always failed to get the rainbow, I wasn't that hopeful today with it being Winter and the Sun not getting that high in the sky and it was cloudy in parts, but it would be rude not to try while I was passing by anyway.
As it happens the cloud lifted and it appeared for me for once, only problem now was actually shooting it as the rain had been quite heavy of late and the falls were quite powerful, which also meant the dreaded spray was out in force, anyone who's ever shot here when the falls are in full flow will know that it's nigh on impossible to shoot from the bottom due to the amount of spray in the air as it's nowhere to escape to and just circles around the bottom section, great if you fancy a free shower, useless for photography..
For that reason I chose to shoot it from above and go in a bit tighter, still getting the pool in the shot but not a lens full of water in the process.
I did have a go down below after this and think I may have got 1 or 2 usuable images but I was literally soaked withf the spray within ten minutes and was putting a plastic bag over the camera inbetween shots, must have scrapped about 10 shots or so due to water spots.
It's a beautiful, but challenging spot to shoot in, thankfully the shot I'd wanted for a while now is in the bag, just need snow and a rainbow now . . .

I'd convinced myself that this was in Scotland! Thankfully my brother put me right. Beautiful sight, along with the valley below, well worth a visit.
