In 1999, after lengthy debates, the German parliament decided to establish a central memorial site, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The competition to design it was won by the New York architect Peter Eisenman. The memorial was ceremonially opened in 2005.
Holocaust-Mahnmal
Holocaust-Mahnmal

The Lincoln Memorial is an American memorial built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It is located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The architect was Henry Bacon, the sculptor of the main statue (Abraham Lincoln, 1920) was Daniel Chester French, and the painter of the interior murals was Jules Guerin. It is one of several monuments built to honor an American president.
It was taken in early morning(5:30am) and there is no any visitor.
Taken at Iwo Jima Memorial (硫黄岛战役纪念碑). It was early morning and whole downtown area was covered by mist.

Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club's Bath Coogee Beach, New South Wales
A cloudy start at the famous Coogee Bath. There was hardly any light breaking through the dense cloud. I had to add a little Lightroom magic to create more drama in the sky. What drawn me to this scene was the water cascading down the side of the pool and the occasional big splash as the wave collides with the concrete perimeter. Overall, I am happy that the final image turned out to be similar as what I envisioned.

This picture has been stitched together from 8 individual pictures. The Crater Lake was formed ~ 7700 years ago in the caldera after the eruption and collapse of Mount Mazama. It has the cleanest water in the USA, almost free of suspended particles, it is also very deep, that´s why the color appears as dark blue. The volcanic cone shaped island on the left is Wizard Island (4400 years old), the small islet on the right is named as Phantom Ship island.
I love this quote by Abraham Lincoln and the Irony of it for he has became arguably the most popular president at the National Mall. The Lincoln memorial is so crowded during the day that it was almost impossible to shoot during the day. After an unsuccessful attempt to shoot the building in the evening I returned the next day early morning around 5AM to shoot this image. These were the first rays of the day illuminating the statue brilliantly and I framed them between the giant columns of the memorial and I only had to deal with a bunch of slightly drunk hipsters in the morning…

This is hands down my fave shot from this DC trip. It was taken at the Lincoln memorial with the Washington memorial smack in the middle framed by the giant marble columns as the morning sun lit up the national mall. The composition came by accident as I went inside to get a shot of Lincoln being illuminated by the morning rays and while waiting thought this will be a cool shot in the meantime. It was a little challenging to expose as the interior was still dark and the outside was really bright.
The exposure was for about 1/200th of a second with an f8 aperture at 12mm. and just as I finished here and was putting my camera away a guy ran up the steps and did a rocky routine, unfortunately a soon as he saw me ran away from there. I wish I hand put away my camera as I think that would have been a killer shot..
The Thomas Jefferson Memorial, He is my favourite US president and I have had a fascination about him since I read about the famous quote by John F Kennedy when he claimed “I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone” during a Nobel laureates dinner.
I reached the memorial by evening that day and was really tired from the heat wave and biking around the city. This angle was interesting because of the lines contrasting against the dome of the building and the perspective the ultra wide angle lens was giving me. I used a polarizer to darken the skies a bit and other than that this was a pretty straight forward shot and I am liking the result so far…
Snow around Crater lake in the spring.
It is a memorial in Berlin to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold. It consists of a 19,000 m2 (4.7-acre) site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or "stelae", arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field..
According to Eisenman's project text, the stelae are designed to produce an uneasy, confusing atmosphere, and the whole sculpture aims to represent a supposedly ordered system that has lost touch with human reason.
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe or Holocaust Memorial near Brandenburg Gate commemorates the up to six million Jewish victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
