This porthouse, located in Antwerp, designed by Zaha Hadid, has been on my wishlist for a long time. We made some long exposure shots and waited in the icy cold wind till the blue hour. The lights turned on 1 by 1 and started illuminating the building. I love this building for its architectural contrast. The older part below is the old renovated porthouse. They added above this twisted and weird modern architecture.

This stunning building housing the Antwerp Port Authority, is a remarkable work of architecture designed by British/Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. The lower part was a disused fire station. The building is meant to "symbolise the dynamic, reliable, ambitious and innovative nature" of the Port of Antwerp (Wikipedia). Earlier I posted a photo of a work by the same architect, in Baku: www.flickr.com/photos/adelheids-pictures/34039577010
Another version of the Antwerp porthouse, slightly different framing.
