"The photographers dream", you heard that one before, right? I know that most of us plan things when it comes to photography. The technique, timing, execution and patience are crucial when it comes to our craft? But every once in a while everything just boils down to pure luck! This is one of the few shots from the series that I took all at the same evening. When so many elements come together so harmoniously at the same time on the few different locations, is a definition of the photographers dream! I never expect to get more than one good shot when I go out but when something so improbable happens it renders you speechless. What do you think?
It’s all about fun, right? This and image shot form Wyndham’s hotel in downtown Chicago. It was a night well spent and I really wanted to capture this frame from this perspective. Shooting from this location was highly anticipated and I was prepared to wait as much as it takes to get this frame. My OCD was never really fully satisfied with the obstructed views from London House :) What do you think?

Are they still around? Well, probably not anymore. It sure was fun seeing them around the town. But now after seeing what’s in front of us, weather wise, I believe that moments like this will be rare this month. It looks like we will all be happy if we see some color by the end of it. What do you think?

LOST IN THOUGHTS How do you guys feel today? I hope you are all good! I know that the photography theme here in Chicago last week was shooting the Chicago henge and I kinda wrapped myself in it. While practicing social distancing, and keeping a safe distance a friend and I went out in attempt to capture that light from a different perspective. Sun was blasting the golden light straight up the river that morning for sure! What do you think?
Do you like to shoot at night? This shot is from one of the hot summer nights of 2016. I was aimlessly roaming the downtown area trying to cool down and look for some new perspectives to photograph the Crown Fountain. City lights, reflections, and a father with two kids were there in the right time. So I ended up with this frame. What do you think?

Ever heard about BURNHAM’S PLAN OF CHICAGO? Me neither, all until I started reading about the subject. I wanted to dig deep and find out more about Chicago’s architecture and people behind it. I discovered a ton of names and stiles and I want name them all now, all I can say that they did a great job. I know that many don’t pay attention to those details, bridges they cross, streets they walk on every day, but I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about Magnificent mile. This is a part of that route and the DUSABLE BRIDGE is the extension that connects the Michigan Avenue to the other side of the river. What better way to showcase all this great architecture than looking down the Michigan Avenue from the Hard Rock Hotel. Another gem in the downtown area and a very cool place. I got to stay there for one night as a present from someone who knows how much I love doing what I do. Big thank you to HRH team for making my stay in this room possible. At the end, with a bit of luck and some help from the great HRH stuff I got to experience this vistas from the best room in the house. So what do you think?
Are you obsessed with photography? I’m bordering that line very often because it is literally the only way to relax my head from all day stress. For this post I have an older shot from the downtown area. Almost 4 years have passed since I arrived and I’m still very much scouting every corner of the Chicago to find some new perspectives and places to photograph. I’ve noticed this spot that winter I arrived and I had to wait till spring for this fountain to be filled with water so I can capture this reflection. This fountain is empty for only a week before they put a ton of plants in it and after that this scene is gone till the next year. What do you think?
Are you too surprised? I’m still not sure what is going on here! I can’t believe that I just spent the entire day in Wisconsin at the end of the January wearing just my west! Temperatures this year are very much surprising. Until I get beck with some winter wonderland shots I will leave you with this frame from Chicago. What do you think?

Time fly’s when you are having fun, righT? What a weekend. I didn’t get to have this much fun in a while. I’m still under impression. The only bad thing is that is already over and I’m back to the usual routine. This is a random shot that I ended up liking very much. I guess it’s because it really felt like spring. What do you think?
I had a great time exploring the Chicago left and right, up and down, last few days. And I had so much luck when it comes to weather conditions. On one of those trips, I visited the John Hancock Building, also know as Chicago 360. These are hands down, the best views of Chicago and this place is really photography friendly. I enjoyed celebrating my Bday with my better half, with the cocktail, while shooting the city. I couldn't ask for a better evening. Without getting in to much tech talk, I have picked a spot and shot the city from the sunset to a blue hour and blend those different moments later, just so I can get this highly dynamic sunset. What do you think?
How often do you use long exposures in your photography? Since recently I discovered a new passion for minimalistic, abstract photography and incorporating movement in that style of work is very important for me. So I find myself using long exposures quite often in one way or the other. I love to use them to break the symmetry in the frame and as a strong point of interest. What do you think?

So how did the weekend go? I didn’t have much luck photography wise to be honest. I made an attempt to capture some images but it did not work out so I got lazy and spend some time recharging my mental batteries. This is the river shot taken from the Wyndham Hotel. What do you think?
Do you remember a warmer Christmas? I sure don’t but it felt great. And on top all of that we had a few top notch sunsets and sunrises. This is the image from yesterdays sunrise. The sky was on fire! If interested to see how it looked you can check out the time-lapse in my stories. Vibrant colors almost looked unreal. What do you think?
Recently I had and opportunity to have access to two rooms in the Hard Rock Hotel here in Chicago. It was one of the things on my bucket list since I moved here and I’m happy that I got the chance to get the shots from this location the way I wanted. This particular view was very interesting because it reminded me of the movie Rear Window. An interesting urban living story. I opt for this frame because it showcase not just the grand city architecture but also urban living. It is almost like watching the ant farm in my opinion. It is beautiful and scary in the same time. LONDON HOUSE How did you kick off the start of this week? I’m still hoping and waiting to see some fall color in the city! But until that happens I’m back and shooting cityscapes. I’m contemplating for a long time how to shoot the views from a London House terrace. For those who don’t know, that is a luxury hotel at the riverfront in Chicago. Since it’s accessible for anybody who is willing to pay for a drink at the rooftop bar it was a challenge to find a different perspective from that spot. Besides waiting for the right weather conditions the bar is always crowded. Since it’s getting colder there is not much people there so this was the perfect time for me to explore the terrace and enjoy that drink in peace and all while happy hour is on ( every Monday and Tuesday :) What do you think?

Still looking for this kind of river views? I’m sure a lot of you recognized these views straight away and yes, these are the views from the former Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. I didn’t get to spend a ton of time photographing from this vantage point but I’m happy that I had that opportunity. My first edit was done exclusively for their IG page and now I feel it’s the time to post a slightly tighter shot from the same spot on my IG feed. What do you think?
