BRING BACK THE BLUES
FAMILIAR PATHS
by Nenad Spasojevic

So how did the weekend go? I didn’t have much luck photography wise to be honest. I made an attempt to capture some images but it did not work out so I got lazy and spend some time recharging my mental batteries. This is the river shot taken from the Wyndham Hotel. What do you think?

REAR WINDOW
Views from St. Jane

Recently I had and opportunity to have access to two rooms in the Hard Rock Hotel here in Chicago. It was one of the things on my bucket list since I moved here and I’m happy that I got the chance to get the shots from this location the way I wanted. This particular view was very interesting because it reminded me of the movie Rear Window. An interesting urban living story. I opt for this frame because it showcase not just the grand city architecture but also urban living. It is almost like watching the ant farm in my opinion. It is beautiful and scary in the same time. What do you think?

ROUND THEM UP
ROUND THEM UP
by Nenad Spasojevic

Are they still around? Well, probably not anymore. It sure was fun seeing them around the town. But now after seeing what’s in front of us, weather wise, I believe that moments like this will be rare this month. It looks like we will all be happy if we see some color by the end of it. What do you think?

TOGETHER
Crown Fountain
by Nenad Spasojevic

Do you like to shoot at night? This shot is from one of the hot summer nights of 2016. I was aimlessly roaming the downtown area trying to cool down and look for some new perspectives to photograph the Crown Fountain. City lights, reflections, and a father with two kids were there in the right time. So I ended up with this frame. What do you think?

MAGNIFICENT MILE
Views from St. Jane
by Nenad Spasojevic

Ever heard about BURNHAM’S PLAN OF CHICAGO? Me neither, all until I started reading about the subject. I wanted to dig deep and find out more about Chicago’s architecture and people behind it. I discovered a ton of names and stiles and I want name them all now, all I can say that they did a great job. I know that many don’t pay attention to those details, bridges they cross, streets they walk on every day, but I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about Magnificent mile. This is a part of that route and the DUSABLE BRIDGE is the extension that connects the Michigan Avenue to the other side of the river. What better way to showcase all this great architecture than looking down the Michigan Avenue from the Hard Rock Hotel. Another gem in the downtown area and a very cool place. I got to stay there for one night as a present from someone who knows how much I love doing what I do. Big thank you to HRH team for making my stay in this room possible. At the end, with a bit of luck and some help from the great HRH stuff I got to experience this vistas from the best room in the house. So what do you think?

LONDON HOUSE
London House Terrase
by Nenad Spasojevic

LONDON HOUSE How did you kick off the start of this week? I’m still hoping and waiting to see some fall color in the city! But until that happens I’m back and shooting cityscapes. I’m contemplating for a long time how to shoot the views from a London House terrace. For those who don’t know, that is a luxury hotel at the riverfront in Chicago. Since it’s accessible for anybody who is willing to pay for a drink at the rooftop bar it was a challenge to find a different perspective from that spot. Besides waiting for the right weather conditions the bar is always crowded. Since it’s getting colder there is not much people there so this was the perfect time for me to explore the terrace and enjoy that drink in peace and all while happy hour is on ( every Monday and Tuesday :) What do you think?

MIRAGE

Still looking for this kind of river views? I’m sure a lot of you recognized these views straight away and yes, these are the views from the former Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. I didn’t get to spend a ton of time photographing from this vantage point but I’m happy that I had that opportunity. My first edit was done exclusively for their IG page and now I feel it’s the time to post a slightly tighter shot from the same spot on my IG feed. What do you think?

It’s all about fun, right? This and image shot form Wyndham’s hotel in downtown Chicago. It was a night well spent and I really wanted to capture this frame from this perspective. Shooting from this location was highly anticipated and I was prepared to wait as much as it takes to get this frame. My OCD was never really fully satisfied with the obstructed views from London House :) What do you think?
