A view of the colourful warehouses along the Nidelva at Sunset, from the Old Town Bridge.
A Winter Sunset view from the Old town Bridge in Trondheim, looking over the river Nidelva and the steeple of the Nidaros Cathedral.
Perhaps the best known feature of the city of Trondheim, is the 'Gamle bybro', the old town bridge. It crosses the Nidelva (river) and was built in the 17C. It served as the town gate for many years.
A blue hour in Trondheim, taken in February, but I think it has a Christmassy feel about, so posting this a week before Christmas made sense to me. With that in mind I wish all my Flickr friends a great holiday season!
Ten minutes before this photo was taken it was snowing heavily and you couldn't see a thing. But suddenly the snow stopped, and for a few minutes there was an incredible clearness, before it started changing again.
The town of Trondheim lies along the Nidelva river, and it is there you find the old and colourful wooden warehouses. Nowadays mostly restaurants, bars, etc. After a hefty snowfall the sky cleared (see earlier photograph) and later the clouds came in and gave a new view of the riverfront.
