It is a photographer's paradise, offering a plethora of stunning locations to capture breathtaking images. From the towering sand dunes of Sossusvlei to the rugged terrain of Damaraland, Namibia is home to some of the most photogenic landscapes in the world. The country's wildlife is equally impressive, with opportunities to photograph lions, elephants, giraffes, and other iconic African animals.

During sunset, the giant black rhino was walking toward the bank after drinking at the waterhole. I am grateful for wild animal protection in Namibia so the rhinos can keep their lives and horns.

The Sossusvlei sand dune in Namibia is well known for its high sand dunes of vivid pink-to-orange color, the oldest dunes are those of a more deep reddish color. The dunes in the area are among the highest in the world; some higher than 200 meters.
A waterhole in Namibia deserts is a vital lifeline for wild animals. No matter big or small, various animals take turns or come in at the same time to the waterhole. There is no fight among them when sharing precious water.
Big Daddy is the tallest dune in the Sossusvlei area. This magnificent dune is situated between Sossusvlei and Deadvlei and at 325 meters it dwarfs the other dunes. Should you want the ultimate bragging rights, take a lot of water and trek to the top of Big Daddy where you can look down onto Deadvlei.

The name Namib is of Khoekhoegowab origin and means "vast place".
The Namib is considered the oldest desert in the world and there is evidence that it already existed during the Tertiary Era, 65 million years ago, when the dinosaurs became extinct. UNESCO declared the Namib a World Heritage Site in 2013.

We were so surprised to stay at Spitzkoppe Lodge, which was surrounded by the giant bald granite rocks. This is the only way to get into the lodge from outside world.
