Penicuik

Took this from just inside the gate of the Army Firing Range, hence the title. From the top of Castlelaw Hill looking over to Turnhouse, Carnethy, Scald Law, East and West Kip Hills with the reservoirs of Glencorse and Loganlea nestling at the bottom.

This is from Allermuir Hill in the Pentlands looking over to Castlelaw Hill and beyond with Turnhouse, Carnethy, Scald Law, East and West Kip Hills all visible.

The beams of light breaking through the cloud inspired the unoriginal title, another shot from the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh.

The Low Pond at Penicuik House, complete with hut, apparently it has been used for curling in the wilder winters

This was taken on the Penicuik estate beside Penicuik house. Not sure what this house is called. Reading up on it it looks like it was the converted...

Formerly the stable block for Penicuik House, now transformed into the residence.
