It is difficult to stay still for 233 seconds

Even with flat, grey skies it's possible to get a colorful photo.

Last week in Cantabria I went out every morning, chasing the light of sunrise. But there were either no clouds at all or the cover was too thick to let any colors through.

So on the last morning I went to my location 90 minutes before sunrise and took this long exposure. The adjacent towns and Santander in the distance lend the scene this beautiful glow to create this nice, false sunrise.

Taken in the area of Costa Quebrada, El Madero, at sunset.

Last friday my friend Gonzalo and I went to this nice beach in the surroundings of Santander to take some shots (again). Although the day was calm, no wind, good temperature, the waves were not so calm and the water jumped over the rocks after every wave showing a nice spectacle.

It is difficult to imagine a better form to spend the 1 hour. I hope you like it.

I love the coastal scenery on the North coast of Spain. The weather wasn’t great, I would have liked some more golden sunset light, but I still thought the view was worth the photo. This is certainly an area I would love to return to.

Walking yesterday near the Portio beach in Costa Quebrada I found this set of aloe vera flowers just in the border of the cliffs and returned later just for the sunset.

La puerta al mar cantabrico en costa quebrada.

Este dia el espectaculo estaba en el mar, arremetia contra las rocas de la Arnia con toda su fuerza, nosotros protegidos de su furia veiamos el espectatulo y nos llevabamos alguna que otra foto.

www.pedrofierro.com/ Hace algún tiempo de esta foto, han pasado ya siete años cuando un día de primavera paseaba por costa quebrada, pisando un manto de flores de toso los colores, dando un ligero matiz de alegría, aunque el día no acompañaba, por la ausencia de los rayos solares, ya que el cielo estaba encapotado siendo el causante de que no pudiésemos disfrutar de ellos, pero el paisaje que nos ofrecía el día, era mas que suficiente.

Salida con Mer a los Urros, pasamos un rato muy agradable.

www.pedrofierro.comwww.amigosfotografos.es/blog/pedrofc/www.amigosfotografos.es/foro/index.php?topic=8854.new#new Cada vez que uno se acerca ha este lugar, se sienta al lado de su cámara montada en el tripode esperando que la luz sea la mas propicia para realizar la foto y disfrutando del paisaje, viendo como las olas van rompiendo a los milenarios Urros de la Costa Quebrada y como al fondo los Picos de Europa, esta tenuamente iluminados, por un sol que se ha perpetrado por las densas nubes que existen en ese momento. Si, se puede decir que uno está disfrutando de ese momento.

www.pedrofierro.com/ Una tarde poco apacible para fotografiado envuelta en una profunda bruma, que no te deja otra opcion que hacer lo que sabes para realizar alguna foto en estas condiciones atmosféricas, pero todos tenemos que lidiar en estas situaciones complicadas para y sacar el máximo partido a tal situación.

One of the many spectacular rock formations along the Coasta Quebrada. The low tide allowed me to scramble around the cliff to this vantage point. The colorful sunset didn't happen but I think this darker mood suits the scene very well.

One thousand times you go to Los Urros, one thousand different photos you get. A worldwide famous place among landscape photographers that I have the fortune to have 5 minutes far from my home. What it is really difficult is not to see several tripods of people trying to capture its beauty.

Darkness relies over Costa Quebrada

It is known as the door of the Cantabric sea in Costa Quebrada, an special rock formation with a door shape. A minimalist composition.

www.pedrofierro.com/ Ayer tarde, nos acercamos hacer el atardecer a los Urros, mientras podamos, disfrutemos del lugar, de un tiempo a esta parte, el lugar se esta viniendo abajo a pasos agigantados, ¿cuales son los motivos por el que este sucediendo esto?, pues lo mio es la fotografía y no oceanografía que es la que puede decir si es la mar que esta cobrando sus terrenos comidos por el hombre, pero un lugar ta hermoso como los Urros, con formaciones milenarias, se están viniendo a bajo cada vez que la mar en un temporal azota sus costas.

www.pedrofierro.com/ Daba igual que estuviera enrocado, para evitar los fuertes vientos del norte, fríos y molestos, buscando encuadres intentando refugiarnos de el, en una atardecer donde el cantabrico esta en calma salvo algunas olas que amenazaban con mojarte los pies.

Another shot in this magic place known as El Madero in the famous Costa Quebrada of Cantabria. If you like landscape photography and have the possibility to travel this is a must see or better a "must shot" area due to its fantastic rock formations.

In this case I used a not too long exposure, just 1,3 seconds in order to maintain the water lines and to obtain the reflection of the sunset on the water. I hope you like it. Comments are welcome.
