Riomaggiore reflection

For a short time in the early morning, Riomaggiore, like the other villages of the "Cinque Terre", is as lonely as in this picture. Then the tourist nightmare begins, so get up early!

Camogli

Spending a few days at the wonderful Ligurian coast south of Genova, we found this lovely small town named Camogli. Not half as famous as Portofino, wich is just a few kilometers away, but at least as unique located and with an awesome atmosphere especially in the evening when the lights turn on.

One of my favorite places on the Ligurian coast. A real pearl with the charming flair of an old, original Italian fishing village. The harbor is absolute enchanting. I had already shown a similar pano from the entrance to the harbor, this one was taken a little earlier.

Plage d'Arone

Our second day on corsica back in October. Sunny weather and a blue sky. Not the best for landscape photography but still I found some interesting shot. I was drawn to the two colors of that little scrub, since it shows the transition from summer to autumn. Also this gave me some nice rgb color trilogy in the photo with the blue sky above.

I needed three different focussed shots here for dof. The bush is only less than 2 feet wide and so I had to get down very low and close. To get everything sharp I used f/11 and focused to the foreground, middle and background to be on the safe side.

The stacking of the shots was as easy as in my start2finish tutorial ( mibreit-photo.com/blog/). No automatic stacking needed for this.

Evening at the cliffs of Bonifacio
Bonifacio
by Walter Maurer

I came to this awesome spot at the cliffs twice that week, with high hopes to get a dramatic sunset. Sadly there were hardly any colors in the sky that evening and the cliffs were drowned in complete shadow. The soft orange tone from this shot soon faded into complete grey and the sun vanished long before actual sunset. In spite ......a fantastic place for a sundowner.

End of a beautiful day on corsica. This photo is a blend of three exposures for dynamic range and water structure. Then a little of my usual contrast and color processing. But with such light, not too much was needed.

Porto

A great evening in Porto in the Calanche Region of Corsica. Originally I had planned on shooting this sunset up in the Calanche. But as I saw this scene after eating some ice creame in porto it was clear that I'd shoot right down at the coast. A good decision. The side light was awesome and clouds were still hanging low in the mountains.

I used a lee 0.6 soft and hard GND here but also did some blending to get in the best waves.

More about my processing can be found here: Start2Finish Post Processing Tutorial

have a nice weekend!

Calvi Blues
Calvi
by Michael

End of a rainy day on Corsica. It was really pouring and most of the time we sat in the nice coffee bars in calvi waiting for the rain to stop. The whole time we waited, I had this photo in mind. Just a little less rain an I would grab my umbrella to get this scene after sunset. I was even more lucky, around sunset it completely stopped raining so I didn't even need the umbrella. The water was very calm after sunset and the grey clouds turned on a light blueish hue, which I emphasized a bit in Photoshop. You just have to love the blue hour when shooting cities. Be it a clear sky, a cloudy sky or even raining. Doesn't matter, you can always get a nice shot.

Used a lee 0.6 hard GND here to balance the exposure + a Polarizer to see a bit of the bottom. The foreground rocks were needed as sharp contrast to the blurry rocks below the surface of the water and also for the viewer to get into the scene. I also had a tele shot in mind but then it started to rain again and I didn't want to change lenses.

PS: for details about my postprocessing have a look at my start2finish tutorial -> store.payloadz.com/details/1343534-video-educational-star...
