South Island
South Island is the larger of the two main islands of New Zealand and is known for its stunning natural beauty. Situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo is the Church of the Good Shepherd, which, in 1935, was the first church built in the Mackenzie Basin. The church at Burkes Pass, St Patrick's built in 1872 was the first church built by pioneers as a joint community effort, by Anglicans Presbyterian and Catholic settlers.
We did not get chance to watch star sky at this location because of cloudy day. It is one of the biggest pities in this trip.

Took this photo on the way from Te Anau to Milford Sound just stopping in a random place to enjoy sunset. A week later was surprised to find that google maps says this scenery was filmed in Hobbit movie.
The drive from Fox Glacier to Wanaka, in New Zealand's South Island presents so many photo ops.... one just has to pull over on the side of the road for a few minutes.... on this occasion, I stopped at "The Neck" between Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea.

We spent a few days roaming around Mt. Cook/Aoraki National Park. This road is one of the most photographed place in New Zealand. It’s along the lake Pukaki, heading to the great Mt. Cook/Aoraki. I was just speechless, contemplating this beautiful landscape surrounding me.
... in this shot, the lake is perfectly still, allowing a much higher resolution reflection of Mount Cook. I just noticed, there's a shimmer on the lake on my last upload of this scene a few days ago...
