by The Jacobite

A wrought iron pedestrian bridge with arched sandstone towers at either end links the City centre to the Laurieston and Gorbals area on the southern side of the City across the River Clyde. The Bridge 414ft in length and 13ft wide was opened in 1853 and replaces a unsafe wooden bridge erected in 1833.
